Nimaicandra Das
School of Bhakti Teacher
From a very young age, Nimaicandra das always felt some connection to spirituality and always wanted to explore the idea of his true identity. He was born in a Jain family so had always heard of the concept of a soul. He was brought up as a vegetarian and with the principles of ahimsa. However, as he grew up, he questioned many of the practices he would see but did not really feel always satisfied with the answers he would get from the elders of the community.
He was finally given the Bhagavad Gita as it is on his 21st birthday and came across Srila Prabhupada’s teachings for the very first time when he was studying at University. It was not an easy read at first, but he was fortunate to meet spiritually minded people through the KC Soc that was started at his university. He was incredibly inspired by the speakers and most of all that they had all come from such varied backgrounds but could share such an insight as to how those teachings of the Bhagavad Gita could be applied in today’s modern world. By the time he finished university, he had a good foundational knowledge but wanted to explore further.
This led to him joining a sabbatical programme through the Bhaktivedanta Manor where he would be able to study in more depth with credible teachers. Over the 6 months, he lived the lifestyle of a monk both in the UK as well as India whilst gaining further knowledge. He currently works as the Head of Financial Training for Echios. Spiritually, he has taken initiation from HH Radhanath Swami and has services incorporating teaching children in Krishna club (Sunday children’s club), mentoring younger aspiring spiritual seekers and assisting in community development.
He thrives in being able to assist others with their spiritual journey and wants to make the teachings of the Vedas understood simply and in a way that can be very practical. He is known for making sessions very interactive and engaging. He is excited to be a part of the School of Bhakti where he can share the magic of Krishna Consciousness.
