A. Hare Krishna. It is best to chant in the association of devotee’s if possible. This creates a devotional atmosphere more conducive for chanting the Lord’s holy names. When chanting one should pronounce every syllable of the Maha Mantra, and it is best to chant and hear with full attention. https://www.sacinandanaswami.com/en/s1a843/chanting-the-holy-names/aligning-body-mind-and-heart-in-the-process-of-chanting.html Here His Holiness Sacinandana Swami gives tips for chanting with deeper absorption. These are also mentioned in his book “The living name” which I found a useful guide to chanting.
